Sakhumnotho Foundation Career Coaching Day for grade 9 learners at Fumana Secondary School

A career coaching Program was undertaken for grade 9 learners at Fumana Secondary School with an attendance of 264 learners. A career assessment day was undertaken prior to the career coaching day to allow learners to identify their personality & learner type and suggested career path to enable them to make an informed career choice before attending the career coaching day.

The career coaching session which followed the self-assessment was both interactive and highly participative and engaging for learners to begin a path of career planning and action planning for the future.

Career guidance program for grade 9 learners

A career guidance program was also launched for grade 9 learners at Fumana Secondary School with an attendance of 284 learners. A self-assessment instrument was given to learners prior to the program which allowed learners to know their exact personality and learner type and suggested career paths, to enable them to make an informed career choice before attending the program. The career coaching session which followed the self-assessment was interactive & engaging.

BUSINESS COACHING SEMINAR

A business coaching seminar was hosted at the African Gospel Church in Soweto. The seminar was attended by 350 entrepreneurs and youth. The feedback from the seminar was that the delegates registered their businesses with CIPC after the session and they also applied to Finfind for funding and begun the planning for the startup of their business. It was also reported that there was increased collaboration and networking.

SGH Foundation Entrepreneurship workshop for grade 7 learners

An entrepreneurship workshop was hosted at Thulisa Primary school in Katlehong. A total of 85 learners attended the session. The program supported the economic and management science entrepreneurship project that had to be completed by the grade 7 learners as part of their curriculum. Teachers reported increased communication and teamwork, confidence of their learners in implementing their business idea and business plan.

SGH Foundation Westbury Entrepreneurship Program

An Entrepreneurship Program was undertaken at Westbury from the 30th of March 2022 to the 6th of April 2022. This program was concluded with a graduation ceremony on the 18th of May 2022. Twenty (20) SMEs enrolled on the program of which 56.3% were startups, 25% established and 18.8% were in ideation stages. The sectors represented were Automotive, Construction, Jewelry, Services, Retail, Food, Manufacturing, Consulting and Beauty.

SGH Foundation Toekomsrus Entrepreneurship Program

An Entrepreneurship Program was undertaken at Toekomsrus from the 23rd of March 2022 to the 6th of April 2022. This was concluded with a graduation ceremony on the 19th of May 2022. Thirty-nine (39) SMEs registered for the program of which 45% were startups, 25% established and 30% were in ideation stages.  The sectors represented were construction, media, consulting, catering, servicing, printing, property solution, technology, marketing communication, and Agri business.
